Single Section Pamphlet
If you have a small amount of loose pages, or some pages folded into a single section, you can make a simple, repairable binding with only a thread, and some nice cover paper if you wish.
Take your paper, make sure they are all nice and in an orderly pile, and then use an awl, needle or japanese hole punch to create an odd amount of evenly spaced holes along an edge. 5 holes is usually my goto, but you can scale the amount to the size of your book. The top and bottom holes should be 15mm from the top, bottom and side edges. The middle hole should be exactly between those holes. Add more holes if needed.
Taking your thread, starting from the middle hole, sew along to edge corner of the book. Then make your way to the other corner, making sure to skip over the middle hole. Sew back to the middle hole. You should now have an unbroken line of sewing along one edge of the book, with the starting and ending of the thread in the middle hole. When at the second corner, then make your way back to the middle hole. With the two thread ends, there should be a line of thread where you skipped past the middle hole. Make sure that the starting and ending thread are either side of the skipped over thread, then do a square knot with the starting and ending thread. Trim excess thread on the starting an end thread.
There are lots of examples of this binding on YouTube, as it's such a beginner friendly starting point and requires paper thread and a needle to get started.
