Wood Effect Leatherbound Book
When I went to the Society of Bookbinders conference in the summer, I went to a lecture that covered the Tudor binding. In essence, it is strips of leather pared on an edge and overlapped to cover a book.
So, when I came to making a copy of The Secret Garden for my daughter, the idea of making wood effect leather strips to make a door into the garden sounded like an ideal beginner project using that technique.
I'm trying to think about adding a door handle. If I do, I'll update the photos.
